There’s been a lot of talk about the future of work and what it would look like. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, companies were forced to adapt and transition to a work-from-home model. Now, after over a year, the workplace of the future is here, and BrowserStack is ready to embrace it.
From now on, BrowserStack will be a remote-first company. Our people will have the flexibility to work from anywhere. There will be planned travel to the base location for teams to come together to interact, innovate, socialize and foster a stronger sense of belonging. We will also continue offering competitive compensation, ESOPs, and health plans.
The past year has been challenging, but teams at BrowserStack have shown resilience and perseverance to move forward and achieve incredible things. We’ve continued to scale by growing our revenue, customer base and launching new initiatives. We celebrated incredible milestones such as acquiring Percy, debuting Breakpoint, our flagship developer conference, growing our employee headcount to over 850, and securing $200 million in Series B at a $4 billion valuation—all with a world-class team working remotely.
We learned that our people are happier and more efficient when given the option to work from a location of their convenience. Being remote-first allows them to be more present for their loved ones and have greater autonomy over their time personally. In addition, taking this step towards the future of the workplace opens up opportunities for BrowserStack to access a global talent pool not confined by geographical boundaries.
We haven’t found all the answers yet, but we will work tirelessly towards doing what’s best for our people. With the situation continuously evolving, we are ironing out the finer details. Still, one thing is constant—the health and wellbeing of our colleagues are of paramount importance to us and at the centre of all decisions.
