“Great men are not born great; they grow great.”

                                         –Mario Puzo in The Godfather

Movies are not just for entertainment, but it also teaches us some valuable lessons. Here are the top movies that an HR professional should watch:

Mangalyaan- The movie is starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role depicts the importance of empowering your employees. It shows that with the best team in hand, you can achieve anything in life. Companies should also keep it in mind that employee engagement and communication is vital for achieving organisational goals.

Up in the Air- This movie depicts that people or employees are the ones who build the organisation. George Clooney, as a Corporate downsizer teaches us how to let go of people politely. HR professionals need to understand that without people, an organisation is empty, so it is important to value every employee.

Jerry Maguire- One of the best roles that Tom Cruise has ever played. Jerry Maguire showcases the importance of having a conversation with your employees. Unless and until you communicate with people, you won’t understand their problems or concerns.

The Pursuit of Happiness- Hard work is always important to win the race, and this is what the movie is all about. This real-life story of Chris Gardener shows the importance of ambition in life. If a person has an urge to succeed, then no external forces can break them.

The King’s Speech- The movie shows the real-life story of King George VI and is one of the best videos on leadership. The King’s Speech beautifully portrays the journey of King George and how he succeeded in becoming a great leader. It shows that our weakness should not stop us from achieving our dreams. Also, this movie showcases some of the best leadership qualities which include seeking for help and trusting others.
